I am the girl who has jumped off the deep end and fallen in love with fashion. I love prancing around town in an outfit that fits my body and personality. You can find me on the clearance racks of H&M and Express (two of my fav stores) and at your local thrift store. I love fashion but not breaking my pockets, so I’m always on the hunt for deals and steals!

I am a lover of all things fabulous and fashionable (but affordable). In my former life I was either a major diva or sensational drag queen. Not quite sure of which one, but my love of MAC make-up, accessories, music, hair and need to overly exaggerate has followed me to this life. I am a chameleon, so my style and hair is always changing to fit my multiple personalities. I am a reality/sitcom TV and celebrity gossip junkie as well.

Over the next few weeks I plan to discuss thrift and consignment shopping. Spring is around the corner (FINALLY) and it’s time to revamp our closets. Those clothes from last spring and this past fall you know you will not wear, get rid of them. Prepare your closet space for all the new and thrifted items you will purchase.

I sometimes prefer thrift and consignment shopping over retail because I can find unique pieces that no one else will have. Another plus of course is the price! I am the Bargain Queen. I feel like a million bucks when I put on an outfit that only cost me $4. I will be sharing the gems I recently purchased from Guardian Angel Thrift in an upcoming post.
If you enjoy shopping and giving back to the community, you should donate and shop clothing at thrift stores that are committed to serving others. Goodwill Industries International, Inc. provides job training, employment, and family support services. Goodwill has many locations; go and check out one in your neighborhood. InterAct of Wake County is a non-profit organization that provides safety and support services to those affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. InterAct has two thirft store locations, Pass It On in Fuquay Varina and Pass It On, Too in Raleigh. Guardian Angel Thrift in Fuquay Varina and Apex has donated over 1 million dollars to Alzheimer’s Research and Respite Care.
These are just a few examples of thrift stores that offer very stylish and vintage clothing and also support good causes. So donate those clothes that don’t fit anymore and upgrade your spring wardrobe at one of your local thrift stores. Give to yourself and help someone else at the same time. Shop with a PURPOSE!
