It’s award season and as we all know there are fashion highs and lows. While celebrities prepare for months deciding whether to wear Alexander McQueen or Oscar De La Renta, some get it right however others completely miss the mark. Here are a few celebrities we felt were some of the best dressed of the evening.
Jessica Alba in Oscar de la Renta.

Granted the social media circuit was going crazy about the value of the Harry Winston necklace she wore (5.8 million in case you’re interested), what caught my eye was the dress. Jessica just seemed to glow in her melon mermaid style dress. It was classy and it was chic. I personally wasn’t a fan of the clutch purse. It just didn’t seem to fit the dress.

I am a little bias simply because I am a fan of “Old Hollywood” fashion. I love the fact she pulled off a neutral color dress that did not wash her out. I also like how her dress wasn’t over the top. It was simple. It was elegant and it was appropriate. Not to mention her makeup and hair were absolutely fitting to the overall look.
Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior

Lawrence, who walked away a winner last night, definitely was a winner in the fashion category as well. I am a sucker for simple chic and she delivered. I love how she accented her waist line by adding a simple belt. Sometimes the little things made a big difference!
A few other ladies that dominated the red carpet, but are not pictured, were Kate Hudson and Helen Mirren. Hudson set twitter ablaze with a low-cut black Alexander McQueen. Didn’t get a chance to see it?? Check it out here!
I will say I was in love with the dress because I could see how gorgeous and stunning it could be if styled differently (cue the gasp, screams and ominous thunderstorm). I would have removed the belt and pulled Hudson’s hair up. I think her hair being down does nothing for the dress or her complete look. Since the eyes are drawn to the neckline of the dress that needs to be shown off. Pull her hair back remove the belt to give it a sleek and sexy look.
Finally Helen Mirren was one of my absolutely favorites. For a woman in her late 60’s she completely blew me away in her black Badgley Mischka dress trimmed in gold. Take a look here! Her dress was fashion forward yet timeless and it fit her so well. I love that, granted she is one of the more mature women in the industry, she didn’t go with the “mother of the bride” style dress. Instead it was form fitting (which might I add she is in excellent shape) and elegant. Kudos to Ms. Mirren.
Unfortunately there were some that missed that mark. Instead of focusing on the many that did I’m just going to pick the top two offenders.
Lena Dunham in Zac Posen

I absolutely adore Lena and the show GIRLS on HBO, but this dress? Not so much. The color was beautiful on her but the shape of the dress just made her look…well frumpy. Dunham was a winner that night, but this dress was not.
Kelly Osbourne in Zac Posen

Okay so obviously these two girls didn’t serve Posen much justice because I wasn’t a fan of Kelly Osbourne's dress either. So who is to blame? When I first spotted the dress on Osbourne I thought there was a glitch on my screen because the bottom of the dress just looked offset with the rest. I did not like the color and I did not like the purple hair with it. Her total look just gave off a dingy feel. Obviously the hosts of the Fashion Police need to critique their selves because Giuliana Rancic’s look wasn’t that great either.

This dress was absolutely horrid. I was ready to put it on the worst dressed list when I witnessed the velvet bottom (I HATE velvet). I'm not sure what look she was going for but I'm getting costume store clearence bin. Try again Giuliana.
Hopefully these ladies get it together by The Oscars!
Let us know what you think!! Who do you think rocked the red carpet and who should’ve went home to try it again???
